Learning English is very important for us, and here is why. We all know Chinese is the most populous, however, the more advanced knowledge is in the western world. Then finally we may develop our own advanced technologies that other countires would try to learn our language in order to retrieve these technologies. It is a never ending cycle and that is how the society and the world grows. English is a very important skill set. The Chinese language may be used by 1/6 of the people in the world, however, English is used by the other 5/6. If we want to improve ourselves, we cannot seal our country like the old Qing Dynasty. We must learn from the best, and then become the best by improving on top of the best. We have fallen behind in the ealier years, so that is why this is a necessary step to do now. It is important in the new era that we do not think of ourselves as the best, and we should learn to be even more modest, and hide our ambitions until we have the tools to do so. And learning their language is an important step for us.

It is a common view that "money is the root of all evil." The pursuit of money drives many people to cheat and steal. It is undeniable that the worsening environment has become the biggest concern of the present-day world. Land resources are dwindling because of water loss and soil erosion. Waste gases poison the air we breathe. The rivers and lakes are polluted by waste mped in them from factories. It is probably no exaggeration to say that deterioration of the quality of the environment threatens the existence of mankind itself.
Some people are of the opinion that the environmental problem is the price we have to pay for economic development. But I do not think that this argument is valid. After all, what is the point of economic growth if people’s lives are adversely alfected by worsening environmental pollution?
There is plenty of evidence to show that sustainable development can be achieved by balancing economic growth with protection of the environment. The key to achieving this is to make people aware of the seriousness of the problem. Both governments and ordinary citizens should join hands to make this world a better place to live in, not only for ourselves, but also for future generations.

I love English,it gives me a colorful dream.I hope I can travel around the world one day. With my good English, I can make friends with many people from different contries.I can see many places of great intrests.I dream that I can go to London,because it is the birth place of English.
I also want to use my good English to introce our great places to the English spoken people,I hope that they can love our country like us.
I know, Rome was not built in a day. I believe that after continuous hard study, one day I can speak English very well.
