Youth is not a time of life; it is a state of mind; it is not a matter of rosy cheeks, red lips and supple knees; it is a matter of the will, a quality of the imagination, a vigor of the emotions; it is the freshness of the deep springs of life.
Youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity, of the appetite for adventure over the love of ease. This often exists in a man of 60 more than a boy of 20. Nobody grows old merely by a number of years. We grow old by deserting our ideals.
Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul. Worry, fear, self-distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back to st.
Whether 60 or 16, there is in every human being’ heart the lure of wonders, the unfailing appetite for what’s next and the joy of the game of living. In the center of your heart and my heart, there is a wireless station; so long as it receives messages of beauty, hope, courage and power from man and from the infinite, so long as you are young.
When your aerials are down, and your spirit is covered with snows of cynicism and the ice of pessimism, then you’ve grown old, even at 20; but as long as your aerials are up, to catch waves of optimism, there’s hope you may die young at 80.

Our world is rapidly changing. Technology and economic
development are perhaps the two most visible factors causing
this. In Chongqing we drive across the new bridges linking
formerly distant locations. We use electronic gadgets that
allow us to perform tasks quicker and more efficiently than
ever before. Who would have imagined communicating via
a blog just a few years ago? However, the impact of technology
and development on our lives is increasingly being overshadowed
by something that is in some ways harder to pin down but
whose enormous impact is undeniable – climate change.
Climate change is truly a global issue that impacts on all
indivials regardless of nationality, gender or wealth. It is
shaping our world in ways we sometimes struggle to understand.
In terms of our daily lives, it can seem hard to identify what
changes result from climate change and as a result it is
sometimes ignored. However, in terms of our planet’s “life
cycle” it is happening extremely quickly. Arctic ice and
glaciers are melting, desertification is speeding up and
major floods are increasingly impacting on people in low-lying
areas.
Climate change is already impacting on our planet and
will increasingly affect our behaviour. Around the world
people are beginning to look to make “greener” choices
in their everyday lives. They are attempting to rece
their “carbon footprint” by travelling in more sustainable
ways [given China’s size, increasing middle class and
rising wealth, is this the right argument?], recing the
amount of food waste they proce and purchasing more
energy-efficient goods and services. Even our languages
are being shaped by climate change! Who had even
heard of a “carbon footprint” until relatively recently?
Given the importance of climate change, I am delighted
to be launching this blog. It reflects the importance that
Chongqing attaches to this issue. It also reflects the
importance attached to climate change by the UK
Government and the British Consulate General. Our two
Governments are engaged in wide-ranging activities
in Chongqing and SW China to address the challenges
posed by climate change – too many to list on this
blog! Major activities have included seminars on
changing policies to rece carbon emissions; examining
“green” building techniques; and visits to the UK
by officials from SW China to examine solar power
technology. Chongqing’s “Car Free Day” at the same
time as over 100 other Chinese cities was an
excellent example of an activity that promoted a
low carbon lifestyle.
The UK is keen to continue this work and develop
even closer links with Chongqing. There is much we can
learn from each other. The lessons we both learn in
dealing with our local problems undoubtedly contribute
to body of knowledge on how to tackle this global
challenge. I very much hope this blog will play its part
in raising awareness and generating debate. I hope it
will spark creative ideas and will act as a catalyst for
change. To bring about this change we need to make
personal choices, and in writing this blog today I have
made a new choice. I have decided to ensure that I
will increasingly walk to my appointments in the Jiefang
Bei district in order to rece my carbon footprint. On
my own my efforts will make only a small difference,
but by acting together we really can make a change.
What can you do differently?
Nothing is difficult if you put your heart into it. Nothing is easy if you don’t try your best.
We often hear people say, “Never give up.” A person who believes in these words will keep trying to pursue his goal no matter how many times he fails. In my opinion, the quality of determination to succeed is an important one to have. Therefore, I believe that we should never give up.
One reason is that if we give up easily, we will achieve nothing. It is not unusual for us to fail in our first attempt at something new, so we should not feel discouraged. Besides, if we always give up when fail happens, we will can not develop new skills. Finally, we should never give up because as we work to reach our goals, we develop confidence, and this confidence can help us succeed in other areas of our lives.
Probably the greatest example of persistence is Abraham Lincoln. Born into poverty, Lincoln was faced with defeat throughout his life. He lost eight elections, twice failed in business and suffered a nervous breakdown. He could have quit many times - but he didn't and because he didn't quit, he became one of the greatest presidents in the history of America.
Lincoln was a champion For the reason that ---he ,never gave up.
In short, no matter you succeed or not, you can learn something, no matter what we learn will help us to become more confident. If we give up, we have no chance to make our dreams come true, if we keep trying, there is always a chance, that we will succeed one day. Thank you very much!

Nowadays, more and more Chinese children are fond of Christmas better than Spring Festival. How do you treat Chinese traditional festival and foreign holidays?
My opinion is both of them are good.
Because both of them can reflect some certain cultrual background. And each of them are the non-matirial heiritage. Especial in nowadays, communications between east and west are more and more important and frequent, more and more foreigners come to China, and more and more Chinese go abroad. They need know the cultrual background of different countries. They have to obey the rules of different countries and nationalities. Otherwise they will not be aspected by other people.
I like Chinese traditional festivals. Red is my favorite colour. During many Chinese traditional festivals, for example, Spring festival, red things are here and there. Red lanterns, red balloons, red flags, red couplets, red firecrackers, red clothes, children's red faces... And, what's more, we don't go to work, we don't go to school, we can accompany our parents, our spouses, our children more than usual.
I like foreign holidays. Everything is fresh, everything is lovely, everything is beautiful, everything seems to be in fairy tales. I like that atmosphere though we can not free at thoese days. haha!

Caring For Nature--Overpopulation
Good morning(时间你自己改下),ladies and gentlemen. I'm very glad to have a chance to give a speech here. My topic is Caring For Nature--Overpopulation.
What is nature? It's everything that exists in the world independently of people, such as pants and animals, earth and rocks, and the weather.
Now more and more people are focusing on the nature. It is no doubt that the nature is important to every human being. No nature, no life. Because of the supplies of the nature, we have lived happily for a long time. And we started to gain every thing available from the nature. And this lasted so long a time. Today, people have discovered that the nature around is getting worse and worse.
What is threatening the nature? Air and water pollution, overharvesting of plant and animal species, overpopulation and so on. Overpopulation is the biggest source of pollution. Let's take overpopulation as an example.
What does overpopulation feel like? When we move slowly through the city in a tazi. When we enter a crowded slum district. When the temperature is high and when the air is thick with st and smoke. The streets are crowded with people. The streets seem alive with people. People eating. People washing. People talking. People sleeping. People visiting each other, arguing and screaming. People relieving themselves. People pushing their hands through the taxi windows, begging. People leading animals. People, people, people, people. As we drive slowly through the crowd, sounding the taxi's horn, the st, heat, noise and cooking fires made it like a scene from hell! I admit, frightening.
To the nature, overpopulation is a big
problem. More people, more pollution. And the big population is threatening the nature every second.
The rapid rise in world population is not creating problems only for the developing countries. The whole world faces the problem that raw materials are being used up at an increasing rate and food proction can not keep up with the population increase. People in rich countries make the heaviest demands on the world's resources, its food, fuel and land, and cause the most pollution. A baby born in the United States will use in his lifetime 30 times more of the world's resources than a baby born in India. Unless all the countries of the world take united action to deal with the population explosion there will be more and more people fighting for a share of less and less land, food and fuel, and the future will bring poverty, misery and war to us all.
For most of the developing countries, it is a good idea to control the population growth. For example, China has carried out birth control for years. And this plan has a great effect on the world population.
If the population continues to increase, if the air and water continue to be polluted, if we don't do something to protect wild-plant and wildlife species will be declining. Species and biological communities have difficulty adapting to change. Economic opportunities and the quality of life of future generations are also put at risk. By protecting nature, we protect ourselves.
Let's unite together, hand in hand we stand all across the land.
We can make this world in which to live. Hand in hand. Control the population growth. Take good care of our nature.
I have got quite different experience from other girls. While they were playing toys at home, while they were dreaming to be the princesses in the story .I was running in the hard rain, jumping in the heavy snow, pitching in the strong wind.Nothing could stop me ,because of a wonderful call from my heart -- to be an athlete.Yeah ,of course ,I'm an athlete,I'm so proud of that all the time .
When I was 10 years old ,I became a shot-put athlete. The training was really hard ,I couldn't bear the heavy shot in my hands .But I always believe that "god only help those who help themselves".During those hard days,I find I was growing more quickly than others of the same age.To be an athlete is my most correct choice. But,I quit my team after entering high school because of a silly excuse.I really didn't want to stop my sports career anyway.
Today I say to you my friends that even though I must face the difficulties of yesterday ,today and tomorrow .I still have a dream .It is a dream deeply rooted in my soul.
I have a dream that one day ,I can run, jump and pitch just like I used to be.
I have a dream that one day , I can go back to my dream sports and join the national team.
I have a dream that one day ,I can stand on the highest place at the olympic games. With all the cameras pointing at me.I will tell everyone that I'm so proud to be a Chinese athlete!
This is my hope .This is the faith that I continue my steps with!!!
With this faith ,I will live though the strong wind and heavy rain ,never give up !
So let victory ring from my heart, from all of you. When we allow victory to ring .I must be the one!
In my imagination,I'm a bird ,a magical bird.I carry my dreams all with me by my big wings. I fly though the mountains ,though the forests ,over the sea,to the sun ,the warmest place in the aerospace!
Every night ,I have a dream ,I see a girl ---smiling~

Ladies and Gentlemen , Good afternoon! I’m very glad to stand here and give you a short speech. today my topic is “”. I hope you will like it , and found the importance in your youth so that more cherish it.
First I want to ask you some questions:
1、 Do you know what is youth?
2、 How do you master your youth?
Youth
Youth is not a time of life, it is a state of mind ; it is not rosy cheeks , red lips and supple knees, it is a matter of the emotions : it is the freshness ; it is the freshness of the deep springs of life .
Youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity of the appetite , for adventure over the love of ease. This often exists in a man of 60 more than a boy of 20 . Nobody grows old merely by a number of years . We grow old by deserting our ideals.
Years wrinkle the skin , but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul . Worry , fear , self –distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back to st .
Whether 60 of 16 , there is in every human being ‘s heart the lure of wonders, the unfailing childlike appetite of what’s next and the joy of the game of living . In the center of your heart and my heart there’s a wireless station : so long as it receives messages of beauty , hope ,cheer, courage and power from men and from the infinite, so long as you are young .
When the aerials are down , and your spirit is covered with snows of cynicism and the ice of pessimism, then you are grown old ,even at 20 , but as long as your aerials are up ,to catch waves of optimism , there is hope you may die young at 80.

A Young Idler,An Old Beggar
Almost everyone knows the famous Chinese saying:A young idler,an old beggar. Throughout history,we have seen many cases in which this saying has again and again proved to be true.
It goes without saying that the youth is the best time of life, ring which one's mental and physical states are at their peaks. It takes relatively less time and pains to learn or accept new things in a world full of changes and rapid developments. In addition, one is less likely to be under great pressure from career, family and health problems when young. Therefore,a fresh mind plus enormous energy will ensure success in different aspects of life.
Of course,we all know:no pains,no gains. If we don't make every effort to make good use of the advantages youth brings us,it is impossible to achieve any goals. As students,we should now try our best to learn all the subjects well so that we can be well prepared for the challenges that we will face in the future.

Never Give Up
“If I could reach higher, just for one moment to touch the sky…”---this is from my favorite song Reach.
When we are appreciating the passionate melody of Gloria Estefan, we could hardly imagine that she could return to the stage after her paralysis. In the year 1990, this Cuban singer was knocked down in a traffic accident, and the doctor declared that she might never walk again. But Gloria did not give up and kept up constant exercising. Just one year after the disaster, she stood up again and presented this encouraging song at the Atlanta Olympics.
Whenever I think of Gloria, I can’t help recalling my memory seven years ago, when I first entered university. Naturally shy, ordinary looking, average scores in study, just like an ugly ckling, I seemed to be the least outstanding one in my class. And the successive failures in the beginning led me into despair. “Am I destined to take the back seat to others?” Unwilling to submit to the fate, I paid more efforts on my study as well as many other activities, film bbing, recital, drama… cause I just want to catch every little opportunity to prove myself. Constant effort yields sure success. Thanks to the competition, I received some awards and most of all, I gained the courage and confidence to face any difficulties in my life journey.
Life is just like farming, and what you can reap depends a lot on your sowing and dedication. Once you have a dream, don’t be hesitant. Your next difficult step may be the one to the top. Keep going forward, even in the toughest time, and never give up.
My hobby
My hobby is fishing. I am fond of going fishing, for it is both interesting and iastructive-It tempers my willpower. Last Sunday I went fishing with my friend, He Ping. We started at daybreak. After three hours' cycling, we arrived at the outskirts of Hefei and came to a stream. The water is clear and clean. One can see fish swimming. The meadow sprinkled with buttercups slopes to the stream. It is a good place for fishing.
In a few minutes everything was ready. Putting the t of earthworms on the hook, dropping the hue into the strum, we sat there fishing with rod in hand. An hour passed. I did not catch a single fish. I lifted the fishing rod time and again. Time and again I was disappointed. There was no fish on the hook. On the other side of the stream, He Ping had caught several fish, one of which was very big.
"How comes it that you catch fish casily while it is so difficult for me?" I asked.
"it's easy. Only you need Io be patient." He Ping answered. "Make sure that you lift the fishing rod when the whole flat has sunk. I'm sure a fish will greet you on the hook."
After a while the floats were swinging. I kept my breath and waked. The floats became still again. "Come on my hook, dear fish." I was saying to myself. In a moment the floats swang again and then sank abruptly, Just at that moment I lifted my fishing rod. To my delight I caught a fish. Grlnning, I took it off the hook.
This gave me a great revelation(启示):Stamina(毅力) is what we need to achieve success. And it is more important to young people who usually lack it.
Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. My topic is New Year Gift Money. During the Spring Festival, many students got a considerable sum of New Year Gift Money. What should we do with this money? Usually there are two alternatives: spend it or save it. Which is better? In my opinion, to save it is more sensible for us students.First of all,as we all know, thrift has long been our tradition virtue. Even in ancient times, our ancestors already knew from their experience that it was easy to go from frugality to extravagance but different to go from extravagance to frugality. Once students get into the habit of spending money extravagantly, he may find it very different to stop doing so, and he may keep buying things like clothes of famous brand, imported stationery, or most updated cell phones.Secondly, saving money prepares us for rainy days. There is an old saying witch goes like this: “Human fortunes are as unpredictable as the weather.” It means that we students can never know what may happen to us next. One day we may be badly in need of money. If that happened, our savings can help us a lot and see us through the hard time.On the other hand, spending may result in students’ unhealthy competition of wealth. Rich students with a lot of New Year Gift Money may spend extravagantly, buying all sorts of luxury goods, while students from poor families don’t even have proper meals. Due to vanity, some poor students may try to find ways to make money quickly. Sometimes they may even take the risk of breaking the law, or committing crimes. Some people may argue that when money is deposited in a bank, it will lose its basic function. Actually, it will not. When our state Treasury lacks money, the money deposited in the bank may help our country overcome financial difficulties.Saving money benefits not only the students themselves, but also our country. So we should start saving money now. That's all. Thank you very much for listening
I love English
When I was seven, I started learning English. I played games and sang English songs with other children. Sometimes, I watched English cartoons. It's funny. Then I discovered the beauty of the language, and began my colorful dream in the English world.
I hope I can travel around the world someday. I want to go to America to visit Washington, because my cousin is over there. Of course, I want to go to London too, because England is where English language developed. If I can ride my bike in Cambridge University, I will be very happy.
I hope I can speak English with everyone in the world. Also I'll introce China to them, such as the Great Wall, and the gardens in Suzhou. I will teaching people of the world about the beautiful language of our country.
I like the English language. To learn English is wonderful. I once wanted to be an English teacher . I also like Chinese literature. When I was really young, I was able to remember lots of poems. I also wanted to be a teacher of Chinese. Now I think that both of my dreams can come true: I will be able to use English to teach foreign friends Chinese and share Chinese culture with them. So that more and more people will be able to get to know the 5000 years' history culture, and the prosperity of our great China.
My future is not a dream. I am confident that it will come true
