Ⅰ 寓言〈英文版〉

《寓言》这首歌用的是现成曲调。
高潮部分（“我才发现梦想与现实间的差别…专…很高很远在我的世界”）引用属的是一首古曲，听我们一位搞音乐的同学说，是古典乐大师塞米斯蒂安·巴赫的一首管风琴曲中的一段。
这段音乐有些人可能熟悉。2003年秋天，CCTV（1、2、5套）有一个“宇通客车”的广告，其中的插曲正是这段慢板的曲子，是女高音的独唱。

A wolf had been badly wounded by dogs. He lay sick and maimed in his lair.

He felt very hungry and thirsty. When a sheep passed by, he asked him to fetch some water from the stream.

"If you bring me the water," he said, "I will find means to get some food."

"Yes," said the sheep, "if I bring you the water, you would undoubtedly make me your food."

●狼被狗所咬，伤势很严重，痛苦地躺在巢穴里，不能外出觅食。

●他感到又饿又渴，这时，他看见一只羊，便请求他到附近的小河里为他取一点水来。

●“你给我一点水解渴”，他说，“我就能自己去寻找食物了。”

●“是呀”，羊回答说，“如果我给你送水喝，那么我就会成为你的食物。”

寓意: 谎言是经不起推敲的，它很容易被人们识破。

战国时，楚国有个人坐船渡江。船到江心，他一不小心。把随身携带的一把宝剑掉落江中。他马上掏出一把小刀，在船舷上刻上一个记号，说：“这是我宝剑落水的地方，所以我要刻上一个记号。”

船靠岸后，那楚人立即从船上刻记号的地方跳下水去捞取掉落的宝剑。捞了半天，仍不见宝剑的影子。其实他又怎么找得到宝剑呢？船继续行驶，而宝剑却不会再移动。像他这样去找剑，真是太愚蠢可笑了。

A man from the state of Chu was crossing a river. In the boat, his sword fell into the water. Immediately he made a mark on the boat.
"This is where my sword fell off," he said.
When the boat stopped moving, he went into the water to look for his sword at the place where he had marked the boat.
The boat had moved but the sword had not. Is this not a very foolish way to look for a sword?

就在他想放弃的时候，他突然想到一个主意。乌鸦叼来了一块小石子投到水罐里，接着又叼了一块又一块石头放进去。
渐渐地，水面升高了。乌鸦高兴地喝到了水。
寓意：有些东西虽然看起来微不足道，但如果积少成多，便会带来很大变化。

这个故事适用于那些不安心本职工作，总是埋怨他人的人。

两棵树的故事
曾经有一位主人在一个山坡上同时播下两颗种子，并以同样的方法浇灌这两颗种子。过了几天，两颗种子发芽了，慢慢地钻出了泥土。一段日子后，小芽长成了小树苗。主人还是辛勤地培育着。其中一棵不满足主人的待遇，竭力地远伸根须，积极地吸收着大自然恩赐的阳光雨露，因此长得很快。另一棵却说：“唉，老兄，你何必活得这么累呢！主人会给我们养料的。”那棵小树只是笑笑。又过了一段日子，一棵长成了大树，而另一棵还不到它的半腰。那另一棵又发话了，说：“兄弟，你真是自找苦吃，长那么高大干吗，每天都经历日晒雨淋，多苦啊！哪象我，有你们挡风遮雨。”那一棵也只是微微一笑。几年后，它在阳光雨露的滋润下长成一棵参天大树。而另一棵却因长期的“营养不良”，还只是一棵弯弯扭扭的小树。一天，主人开来了一辆卡车，把那棵大树砍了，运去制造物件。那棵小树见了不禁惋惜而感叹地说：“老兄啊老兄，你最终还是被砍了。还不如我呢！”大树听了鄙夷地说：“我要做个有用的人，怎能像你呢！”
