Where your thoughts are, there will your live be also. If your thoughts are confined only to your business, only to your physical welfare, only to the narrow circle of the town in which you live, then you live in a narrow cir-conscribed life. But if you are interested in what is going on in China, then you are living in China~ if you’re interested in the characters of a good novel, then you are living with those highly interesting people, if you listen intently to fine music, you are away from your immediate surroundings and living in a world of passion and imagination.

1. 分析中除第3点外都很正确。翻译得基本得体。"connected with..."最好理解为过去分词短语作后内置定语(抱歉,很多具体语法容忘记得差不多了),比如,That guy called Mike is one of my classmates in middle school. 中的"called Mike“;如果写成 That guy who is called Mike is...就累赘了。
2. 前面应该已经回答了,通常为了避免句子冗长累赘(比如出现2个或2个以上动词),结构嵌套过多,会用过去分词短语来替代从句作为定语。
