大家好，我是中一班的王薏淼，我演講的題目是萬聖節------一個充滿快樂的節日 。 每年的10月31日是西方傳統節日萬聖節前夜。當晚小孩子們會穿上各式各樣稀奇古怪 的服裝，帶上面具，挨家挨戶索要糖果，這樣的活動一直會持續到11月1日。所以說萬 聖節是屬於孩子們的節日，當然也是年輕人的化裝舞會。 今年我和媽媽一起製作了南瓜燈、女巫帽和蝙蝠面具，製作過程雖然繁瑣但也充滿 了樂趣，當我戴上親手製作的面具，我感到非常的驕傲和自豪。在萬聖節這一天，幼 兒園也舉辦了非常有意思的活動，給我印象最深的是胡老師，她打扮成了一個穿睡衣 的男人，特別的搞笑，我和琪琪都笑得前仰後合，不過，讓我最高興的還是得到了好 多糖果。 媽媽還告訴我，萬聖節是了解英語世界的一個特別好的窗口，我們小朋友要好好學 習，將來可以與全世界的小朋友一起快樂的游戲。

Halloween or Hallowe'en is a tradition celebrated on the night of October 31, most notably by children dressing in costumes and going door-to-door collecting sweets, fruit, and other gifts. Apart from this trick-or-treating, there are many other traditional Halloween activities. Some of these include costume parties, watching horror films, going to "haunted" houses, and traditional autumn activities such as hayrides, some of these even "haunted".

Halloween originated under a different name ("samhain") as a Pagan festival among the Celts of Ireland and Great Britain with mainly Irish and Scots and other immigrants transporting versions of the tradition to North America in the nineteenth century. Most other Western countries have embraced Halloween as a part of American pop culture in the late twentieth century.

Halloween is celebrated in most parts of the Western world, most commonly in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Peru, and with increasing popularity in Australia and New Zealand. In recent years, Halloween has also been celebrated in parts of Western Europe.

因為，古時候人們認為惡靈們會在每年10月31日的夜晚重返人間。為了驅逐鬼靈，他們會將房子里的爐火和燭台熄滅，將房子弄得很荒涼，好像沒人居住一樣，這樣惡靈就不會進屋去。他們也會故意穿得很邋遢，或者打扮的想鬼魂一樣。這樣，惡靈和貴很就會誤認為是自己的同伴，就不會來侵擾了。
