Ⅰ 寓言〈英文版〉

《寓言》這首歌用的是現成曲調。
高潮部分（「我才發現夢想與現實間的差別…專…很高很遠在我的世界」）引用屬的是一首古曲，聽我們一位搞音樂的同學說，是古典樂大師塞米斯蒂安·巴赫的一首管風琴曲中的一段。
這段音樂有些人可能熟悉。2003年秋天，CCTV（1、2、5套）有一個「宇通客車」的廣告，其中的插曲正是這段慢板的曲子，是女高音的獨唱。

Ⅱ 英語版寓言故事

A wolf had been badly wounded by dogs. He lay sick and maimed in his lair.

He felt very hungry and thirsty. When a sheep passed by, he asked him to fetch some water from the stream.

"If you bring me the water," he said, "I will find means to get some food."

"Yes," said the sheep, "if I bring you the water, you would undoubtedly make me your food."

●狼被狗所咬，傷勢很嚴重，痛苦地躺在巢穴里，不能外出覓食。

●他感到又餓又渴，這時，他看見一隻羊，便請求他到附近的小河裡為他取一點水來。

●「你給我一點水解渴」，他說，「我就能自己去尋找食物了。」

●「是呀」，羊回答說，「如果我給你送水喝，那麼我就會成為你的食物。」

寓意: 謊言是經不起推敲的，它很容易被人們識破。

戰國時，楚國有個人坐船渡江。船到江心，他一不小心。把隨身攜帶的一把寶劍掉落江中。他馬上掏出一把小刀，在船舷上刻上一個記號，說：「這是我寶劍落水的地方，所以我要刻上一個記號。」

船靠岸後，那楚人立即從船上刻記號的地方跳下水去撈取掉落的寶劍。撈了半天，仍不見寶劍的影子。其實他又怎麼找得到寶劍呢？船繼續行駛，而寶劍卻不會再移動。像他這樣去找劍，真是太愚蠢可笑了。

A man from the state of Chu was crossing a river. In the boat, his sword fell into the water. Immediately he made a mark on the boat.
"This is where my sword fell off," he said.
When the boat stopped moving, he went into the water to look for his sword at the place where he had marked the boat.
The boat had moved but the sword had not. Is this not a very foolish way to look for a sword?

就在他想放棄的時候，他突然想到一個主意。烏鴉叼來了一塊小石子投到水罐里，接著又叼了一塊又一塊石頭放進去。
漸漸地，水面升高了。烏鴉高興地喝到了水。
寓意：有些東西雖然看起來微不足道，但如果積少成多，便會帶來很大變化。

一個冬天的下午，貓躺在暖烘烘的太陽底下，靠著主人家的牆根，半閉著眼打盹。忽然一隻老鼠「哧溜」一下從貓腳邊溜過。貓被驚醒了，睜開眼就破口大罵：「你夜裡作崇還不夠嗎？白天還要來騷擾。看我怎麼收拾你。」說著就猛撲過去。見此情景老鼠靈機一動，鑽進了牆根的石縫里，轉而探出頭來對貓說：「貓大哥，別那麼凶。你也不想想，如果沒有了我們，你就沒事可做了，主人家就會把你趕出家門。到那時，你就失業啦！」話音剛落，就不見了老鼠的蹤影，留下貓在那裡一楞一楞。
這個故事適用於那些不安心本職工作，總是埋怨他人的人。

兩棵樹的故事
曾經有一位主人在一個山坡上同時播下兩顆種子，並以同樣的方法澆灌這兩顆種子。過了幾天，兩顆種子發芽了，慢慢地鑽出了泥土。一段日子後，小芽長成了小樹苗。主人還是辛勤地培育著。其中一棵不滿足主人的待遇，竭力地遠伸根須，積極地吸收著大自然恩賜的陽光雨露，因此長得很快。另一棵卻說：「唉，老兄，你何必活得這么累呢！主人會給我們養料的。」那棵小樹只是笑笑。又過了一段日子，一棵長成了大樹，而另一棵還不到它的半腰。那另一棵又發話了，說：「兄弟，你真是自找苦吃，長那麼高大幹嗎，每天都經歷日曬雨淋，多苦啊！哪象我，有你們擋風遮雨。」那一棵也只是微微一笑。幾年後，它在陽光雨露的滋潤下長成一棵參天大樹。而另一棵卻因長期的「營養不良」，還只是一棵彎彎扭扭的小樹。一天，主人開來了一輛卡車，把那棵大樹砍了，運去製造物件。那棵小樹見了不禁惋惜而感嘆地說：「老兄啊老兄，你最終還是被砍了。還不如我呢！」大樹聽了鄙夷地說：「我要做個有用的人，怎能像你呢！」
